Review by hotel critic
Review of the Caledon HotelOur family recently stayed at the Caledon, seeking a peaceful getaway from the bustle of Toronto. The hotel's close proximity to the famous hot springs allowed us to unwind and rejuvenate together, which was truly needed. We appreciated the family-friendly environment, particularly at Da Vinci restaurant, where we shared meals that catered to all generations. Unfortunately, our breakfast experience did not meet expectations. My son, a discerning teen with a healthy appetite, found the continental buffet lacking in quality. The deli meats were unappetizing, reminiscent of something pulled from the freezer, and he could only manage a couple of bites. This raised concerns, especially for a hotel that promotes family dining. During our stay mid-week, we enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings, which provided a serene backdrop for family bonding. The hotel offers a strategic escape from the demands of everyday life without the overwhelming crowds often found on weekends. The Caledon serves as an ideal location for families looking to recharge amidst nature, although I recommend approaching breakfast with tempered expectations.
